3 weeks left..

Week 4 at global change has begun and it is now only 3 weeks left before we are going to Kenya. We have started to get concrete tools to use there. Yesterday we learned how we can facilitate a workshop with tools for brainstorming and action planning and last week we learned about participatory research which I think were really inspiring. I think it is very important to remember that it is the people who are living in that specific village there knows best about the problems they are having and that everybody doesn’t think that our world is the ideal world.

I am starting to get an image of our trip to Kenya and we are beginning to have a common ground, but there are still a lot of decisions to be made and things to prepare.

A blog for reflection…

line | September 20, 2009

I started a new course two weeks ago - Global Change. The following 4 month I will get inspiration and tools to carry out projects and campaigns, and together with other 30 participants end up making a campaign fighting for climate justice. As a part of the course 12 of us is going 4 weeks to Kenya and hear their stories about the climate changes.

This trip was a big part of my decision to take this course. I am fascinated of other cultures and are looking forward to see their view and way of living. The other part was to get to learn how to make projects and campaigns which is something I hope to do a lot more in the future. Now as a bonus I get to learn about the climate changes and all the different aspects. Before I started this cause I didn’t knew a lot about these issues so it was about time and it is about time we all get to know a lot more about this.

I finished my education to become a social worker this summer and people have had my main interest. In our time climate changes is also about people. For some time we have been having this party on the worlds behalf and we are racing towards its limits. Because of pollutions and consumerism people are now climate refugees but not the people who had consumed.

-It is time for us to get together and make changes, find solutions and pay our debt. Our behaviour is dictating…..

It is with hope for the world and excitement and expectations for the course this blog begins…
